Blend Decks and Hardscapes

An outdoor living extension of your home

The lights came on that first night, and I wondered what resort I had stepped into. And just think, I live here.

Patios vs. Decks

We get a lot of questions from customers about whether they should install a patio or a deck.  Our answer is often, "why not both"!  A raised deck can be a direct extension of your indoor living, with a combined outdoor cooking and dining area providing both convenience and luxury.

Several design elements can be constructed to obtain an intimate, enclosed space.  A pergola can provide some cover from the elements.  Add low voltage lighting and outdoor heaters to expand upon the use of your space throughout the seasons.

Step down to ground level, and your stone or paver patio can provide an extended entertainment area, with a seating area and perhaps a fire feature for gathering with family and friends.

Re-Skinning

If your current deck is deteriorating but the underlying structure is in good shape, you may be able to give your deck a new look with some fresh decking.  In this case, we use all the existing beams and footings and simply replace the rotting deck boards and railings with new material. We prefer building with composite decking to ensure your deck has an extended life with little maintenance.

New Construction

If your current deck is no longer meeting you and your family’s needs, let’s start over!  We can remove the existing deck and talk through a new design that better meets your needs.  Whether it’s at ground level or raised, we can build a new deck for you that will provide enjoyment for years to come.
